Sunday June 1st, 2014.. Today was another good day of travel, as we left Texas and arrived to overnight at a nice town, Benson, Az. The travel today was hot, 100 plus days and the scenery was pretty much unchanging desert and scrub brush, except passing thru El Paso. Larry and Eileen got to see some of the wall built to try keep illegal aliens out and saw the Rio Grande river. Crossed in to New Mexico and turned left in Las Cruces and traveled on to the border with Az. In New Mexico, we had the privilege of meeting our Border Patrol, as they divert all traffic off I-10 into a shelter, for exam. We must have looked ok as they waved us on thru, after asking if we were all us citizens, which I replied two of were and two were from Vermont, he seemed puzzled by that as I drove off. Above is one of the neat picnic tables at Texas rest area.
Here are a few pics from a short trip 28 miles from KOA we are staying at in Benson AZ, Can you guess the location, If you do you can be my Huckleberry
Larry and Eileen sitting outside enjoying evening air and a most beautiful sunset. Good night all, more tomorrow, as we travel to Phoenix to meet one of Larry's cousins, Then we will start toward Lake Havasu.
Please tell Eileen to bring me home one of those teepee things, I like that. I'll reimburse her upon delivery! nice sunset...
