Combo post SUNDAY AND MONDAY

Did not get to post due to computer problems, on Sunday, so have combined with Monday.  Sunday was pretty good day till Sunday evening then the rain came.  Monday was the day from hell, driving in storm all the way Memphis, terrible cross winds and rain so hard, difficult to see at times.
No one rides for free, flat sisters had to help do dishes.

Crossing the Mississippi Again

Today Even in the rain, We had to see the King's house and toys.

In spite of rough driving, we still had a good time and I think Larry enjoyed it the most, especially the cars.

Saturday June 7th, 2014....Very quiet day on the road, got started from Grants New Mexico around 9am and had good road and clear weather.  Stopped in Albuquerque, NM for fuel and continued on to Amarillo, TX.  Just out side Amarillo a Tractor trailor had crossed the median from west bound I-40 across both lanes of east bound and flipped over on side of I-40, not sure of injuries.  As I write this, we are under a tornado watch her at the KOA and the thunder and lightning has just started, 9:30pm local time.  I do have a couple photos for today though.
Ominous Skies, after set up...

Friday, June 6, 2014    ( D ) DAY, PLEASE REMEMBER OUR GREATEST GENERATION.

Another pleasant day to travel and 2 and half hours I arrived to sing with the eagles, since no one even attempted to guess, I am not telling.  I will post pictures and you figure it out.

Figured it out yet?  How about a girl in a flat bed Ford slowing down to take a look at me.  Well I am going to take it easy, and spend the night in Grants, New Mexico.  Tomorrow we chase storms, as they seem to be moving east ahead of us.

I hope these photos show up, as we are in a place called  LAVA LAND, where large chunks of lave push up thru the ground, all around..

Pleasant Dreams and tomorrow I may have to alter my route, we will see.

Thursday June 5th, 2014

Today was a  a great day, heck they are all great when on the road in this beautiful country.  Today, first off the morning temp was 48 degrees and it warmed up nicely to 85 degrees while we were viewing the Grand Canyon, South Rim.  This place is fantastic and if you have not been here, make arraignments to come.  I am super proud of Larry Knapp, who despite heart condition and diabetes, still walked 3.7 miles today, outstanding.  We met one of the local residents today to.
W
We covered a lot of ground and most all on foot, with only a short bus ride in between.

So much to see, hard to decide what to post, so I will do a few and let it go at that.

We were pretty tired after a full day and on the way out, met another resident of the park.
Most People do not think of cactus as pretty but they produce some nice flowers, which I found on side of trail.

Well that is all tonight, we must rest so I can sing like an Eagle tomorrow, see if you can guess what I mean.
